This elongated overbust corset explores the structural possibilities of Janine Grosche’s “latex leather”, a reinforced material created from natural liquid latex as part of her material research. Retaining the translucency and delicacy of a thin skin, the snake-skin surface gains enough strength to shape and extend the silhouette. Following and exaggerating the contours of the body, the elongated construction transforms the latex membrane into a sculptural, self-supporting garment.
